Digit Vault on FlagDuel is a free 1v1 memory duel: a numeric code flashes briefly for you and a live opponent, you tap it back on a keypad from memory, one wrong digit fails that vault and deals a fresh code of the same length, and the first player to crack 3 vaults wins the round.
How to play

Does a failed vault send me back to a shorter code?
No - a failure deals a fresh code of the same length, so the vault in front of you stays exactly as hard as it was. You lose the attempt and the seconds, never the ground you have already taken.
Does chunking the code into pairs help?
It is the single best habit in this duel. Read the code in pairs rather than as loose digits and you are carrying half as many things to the keypad, which is what makes the longer vaults survivable at all.
Should I tap the code back fast or carefully?
Fast enough that the code is still fresh, careful enough that your thumb lands on the digit you meant. A mis-tap fails the vault as completely as a forgotten digit, and it is the more infuriating way to hand over a round.
What makes the third vault the hardest?
Codes grow longer with every vault you crack, so the last one is the longest code of the round and it arrives when your rival is probably one crack away too. That is where the round tends to be won.
